Pride events are almost always run by volunteers, and contacting them can go a long way. Please always be respectful of the effort they make.
Finding your local Pride's contact details
Most Pride organisations list a general enquiries or "info@" email address on their official website, usually on a Contact or About page. If you can't find one there:
- Check their social media bios (Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter) — many Prides list an email address directly, or accept direct messages.
- Look for a "committee" or "board" page, which sometimes lists named organisers.
- Search for your Pride in a national or regional Pride directory (for example UK Pride Organisers' Network members) if it doesn't have its own dedicated website.
- If in doubt, address your email to "the organising committee" — it will usually reach the right people.
Three lines of argument
Individuals are empathetic to different arguments and it can be important to balance your personal convictions with what may be the most effective line of argument with whoever receives your email. Below are three template emails you are welcome to use in full or as a guide, though remember personal words will often land more effectively.
1. Environmental Responsibility
The LGBTQ+ community is statistically at greater risk from climate change — through higher rates of homelessness and greater difficulty accessing support in disasters, among other factors. Reducing reliance on animal agriculture, one of the biggest drivers of climate change, is one of the most effective ways to cut a Pride's environmental footprint.
2. Ethical Responsibility
Protecting marginalised communities is central to Pride's ethos. Animal agriculture commodifies living beings for profit, and by scale is one of the largest causes of suffering to a voiceless group. Fighting for the rights of those without representation is, in our view, a natural extension of what Pride already stands for.
3. Combined Approach
Each of these reasons resonates differently with different people. The combined template brings the environmental, climate-risk and ethical arguments together into a single, rounded case.

Subject: Plant-based catering and Pride's duty to the voiceless Dear Pride Organiser, I'm writing to ask [x] Pride to consider prioritising plant-based catering at future events as a way to reduce Pride's ethical impact on voiceless animals. Central to the Pride movement is a drive to protect and empower marginalised communities – those without a fair say in decisions that affect them, and I'm truly grateful for the people who have paved the way to a world where the rights of the LGBTQ+ community have expanded so much in the last 50 years as a result of this. I also believe that this principle shouldn't stop at our own community and I feel we have a real opportunity to extend this mindset to others. Animal agriculture commodifies living beings for profit, and the dairy industry in particular is built on the exploitation of animals' reproductive systems. By scale, it is one of the largest sources of suffering inflicted on any individual, voiceless group with trillions of animals killed each year.
